1907 Indian Head Cent $9.95 The Indian Head Cent was first minted in 1853 and featured a youthful Miss Liberty adorned with a Native American headdress. According to legend, designer James Barton Longacre modeled the image after his own daughter. In 1909, the coin was redesigned to feature President Lincoln, becoming the first coin to bear a portrait other than Miss Liberty.In recent years, Indian Head Cents have become increasingly hard to find. Once plentiful, most of these important coins have found their way into private collections or have been made into jewelry.
